My process for ShopTalk included conducting user research through qualitative interviewing as well as conducting a review of the literature on grocery shopping consumer behavior trends. From this research I developed several main user personas to focus my design process on meaningfully connecting with a target group of users and their ongoing patterns, habits, and struggles as they coordinated shopping for their households.
ShopTalk is a collaborative shopping list app for iOS that allows groups to easily coordinate and communicate about groceries and other household purchases. Based on my research, I fully refined the IA and took all UIs through from initial sketches through to fully developed wireframes, polished visual mockups, and an interactive prototype to facilitate user testing.
ShopTalk's main interface is a simple list of clickable tags for items that need to be picked up.
Item Profile cards feature more detailed specifications for each item, for reference while shopping.
Group messaging threads organized by item create an easy-to-navigate database for co-shoppers of what people have said in their own words about the things they need.
